Various companies (called Providers in this document) will be licensed to run WBF Robot Tournaments (WRT) and WBF Robot Bridge Points (WBFRBP) will be allocated at the time of play by the Provider based on a table of calculation to be agreed with all parties an example of which is outlined later in this document.
The data from the provider events will be sent to a WBF server in an agreed data format at the end of each game.
This data will be combined with existing data to give an overall WBF ranking based on Robot Bridge Points.
The top players of this overall ranking of Robot Bridge Points will be awarded WBF Master Points. Their results and WBF Master Point totals will appear in a separate WBFRT Ranking with titles of World Robot Games Master and World International Robot Games Master, in the same way as ‘conventional’ bridge tournament awards. At the start of the WBF Master Point year ( just after the WBF World Championships ) the top 20 players will be awarded WBF Master oints in the main WBF Masterpoint rankings.
The current system creates a unique ID for a player by using the internal ID that the Provider uses to identify a player prefixed with a pre-decided Provider ID ( ProvID ) provider so for example:
Example: A player known to the BBO as Player Id ‘12345’ would be known to the WBF as “BBO1234”
If a player plays with multiple Providers then that the player will inform the WBF of this by email and the two or more IDs that they are known as, this information is then entered into a table on the WBF system and a new WBFID is created and this then links to the player’s records. By implementing it this way the WBF can also change the Player’s Name and Country if requested. The uploaded data from the providers must contain the player’s real name so they can be identified and not a nickname.
Example: So a person who plays on Fun Bridge as player 7890 would be uploaded as FBR7890 If this same person also plays on BBO as 1234 and is known as BBO1234 then The WBF system will automatically combine their data and assign a player ID of, for example, WBF6 to them so on the WBF Robot Points system they would be known with this ID. Of course they would be able to search by any of these codes or their name to find their results, they would also be informed of their ‘new’ ID at the time.
These will be allocated by the Providers based on the field of play per event. 1st place Maximum points depending on the tournament 2nd place 80% of maximum 3rd place 70% of maximum 4th place 60% of maximum 5th – 19th place 55% of maximum 20th – 39th place 50% of maximum 40th – 59th place 45% of maximum 60th – 79th place 40% of maximum 80th – 99th place 35% of maximum 100th – 119th place 30% of maximum 120th – 139th place 25% of maximum 140th – 159th place 20% of maximum 160th – 179th place 15% of maximum 180th – 200th place 10% of maximum The last place to be awarded points must be no less than 50% of the total entrants (i.e. to award points to the 100th placed pair there must be at least 200 pairs.) The Rounding on these allocations will be in accordance with the current WBF rounding system which is as follows: 3.4 = 3 3.5 = 4 0.5 = 1 0.1 = 1 4. 'Year' is currently defined as a WBF Master Point year which runs from the beginning of the 'conventional' World Bridge Championship to the beginning of the next 'conventional' World Bridge Championship. However for WBF Robot Bridge Points these will be reduced after 365 days of the event date by 10%.
The System:1. The Provider will be sanctioned by the WBF to award WBF Robot Bridge Points (WRBP) in its bridge tournaments. WBF Robot Bridge Points (WRBP) will be awarded following the scheme below: a. In pairs and individual tournaments of between 8 and 11 boards, the first place will be awarded 500 WRBP, the rest according to the WBF Robot Bridge Scale. b. In pairs and individual tournaments of between 12 and 18 boards, the first place will be awarded 1200 WRBP, the rest according to the WBF Robot Bridge Scale. c. In pairs and individual tournaments of more than 18 boards, the first place will be awarded 1500 WRBP, the rest according to the WBF Robot Bridge Scale.2. TITLES
a. WBF Robot Tournament Player (WRTP) - A player who accumulates 50000 WRBP for life. b. WBF Robot Tournament Master (WRTM) - A player who accumulates 100,000 WRBP for life. c. WBF Robot Tournament International Master (WRTIM) - A player who accumulates 250,000 WRBP for life.
3. WRBPs accumulated will depreciate at the rate of 10% per year in the following years.4. If a player's total number of WRBPs becomes less than 3, it will be considered to equal zero.5. It is the Providers’ duty to identify the players uniquely according to the agreed WBF format so a player who plays with multiple providers can be identified.6. It is the Providers’ duty to upload to the WBF system with the required data in an agreed form as soon as possible after the event.
